ARLINGTON, VA (October 15, 2018)
Toffler Associates, a future-focused strategic advisory firm, unveils the results of their latest executive research study at their biennial, flagship event, Future Shock Forum℠ in Chicago, Oct. 15-16.
Future Shock Forum gathers leaders, innovators, and thinkers from the worlds of business, public service, and academia to explore and debate Future Shocks™ - fundamental shifts that will further reshape business, societies, and economies.
The overall objective of the “Leadership for Human-Centric Organizations” study was to understand shifts across organizations while focusing on resilience. The results are based on recent projects and future-focused studies and expectations of business decision-makers across management, finance, IT, marketing, and sales roles.
Key themes from the research:
- Respondents state culture is important but demonstrate a lack of commitment to culture.
- More than 75 percent of respondents believe they are weathering change and risk at least moderately well.
- Agility, clearly defined values, and a strong culture characterize business resiliency.
“Looking at data helps us better understand the challenges on the horizon for today’s leaders,” said Deborah Westphal, CEO of Toffler Associates. “We are finding more and more that organizations taking a human-centric approach, focusing more on values and culture, are better positioned to thrive in the future. This study shows that having clearly defined organizational values and an engaged workforce are major forces in building resilience.”
At Future Shock Forum, Westphal will be awarding Beth Comstock, former Vice-Chair of GE and author of Imagine it Forward, with the 2018 Toffler Associates Award for Excellence in Change Leadership. The two will engage in a spotlight conversation covering disruption, imagination, resilience, and the challenges ahead for today’s leaders.
